CELL – Cognitive & Experimental Linguistics Laboratory

CELL – Cognitive & Experimental Linguistics Laboratory

CELL is a research grouping working on software modelling of specific theories on linguistic cognitive systems and on experimental testing of hypotheses following from these theories. The focus area of the work is theoretical and didactic problems concerning language acquisition, language learning and language teaching involving students who are foreign language learners or bi- or multilinguals.

Special attention is given to attempts to (i) develop software models of cognitive systems and to experimental testing of hypotheses in laboratory settings, and (ii) applying resulting ideas in real-life language learning and language teaching environments.

Hans Götzsche is the organiser of the grouping, and it includes mathematicians, experts in language acquisition, teaching and learning, and computational linguists from Denmark, Germany and Russia.
